A workflow or amendment cannot progress
How to diagnose workflow and amendment blockers.
Operational workflows and Amendments are separate from the parent record's maker-checker lifecycle.
Workflow cannot progress
Check that the workflow instance is Active and has a current stage. Then verify:
- the work is assigned and accepted by the acting user;
- required stage Requirements are captured and verified or validly waived;
- a required Review exists and its outcome matches the selected Transition;
- an independent-review stage is advanced by a different actor;
- the Transition and destination stage are Authorized and not deleted;
- the requested command is configured as a current-stage Action;
- action availability rules match the current business facts.
When a stage changes, use the destination stage's new assignments and Requirements; old-stage work is superseded.
Amendment cannot progress
Confirm the entity supports Amendments and the proposed field is amendable. Only one active proposal may be allowed for the same record. Check the Amendment's own record status, required L3/L2/L1 authority, separation rules, and optimistic version. A correction changes the proposal; it does not directly change the Authorized parent.
If no Amendment controls appear, the entity may use immediate configuration, a dedicated operational command, or no supported post-authorization edit.
