Activity logs

How to search and interpret audit activity.

Activity Logs provide remoteEaze's audit trail for successful and failed user, system, security, financial, and integration actions.

Find an event

With Read Activity Log, open Processing & Monitoring → Activity Logs. Filter by Company, actor, action, entity type or ID, module, status, sensitivity, date range, request/correlation information, or search. Open a row to review its timestamp, actor, tenant context, request, tags, result, metadata, and recorded before/after change.

Understand the people and organization fields

  • Actor is the user or system identity that performed the action.
  • Requester identifies the originating user when background or delegated processing performed the recorded action.
  • Actor Department and Actor Cost Centre are snapshots of the actor's assignment at the time of the event. A later user reassignment does not rewrite historical Activity Logs.
  • Request ID follows one API request. Correlation ID connects related work across requests or services. Job ID connects queued background work.

Use these fields together when one business operation produces more than one event.

Read changes and protected values

The diff viewer identifies added, modified, and removed values. Encrypted values remain visibly protected by default. A failed operation may have error metadata without a committed business change.

Before and After show the recorded state around the action. The Diff view reduces that evidence to changed paths. Tags and metadata add processing context but do not replace the changed record evidence.

Protected values remain encrypted until a user with Decrypt Activity Log uses the audited decryption flow. Decryption reveals only the selected event's permitted protected fields and creates its own Activity Log evidence.

With Export Activity Log, export the filtered audit set through the available export action. Apply the narrowest date and entity filters needed for the investigation.

Activity Logs are append-only evidence. They are not an interface for changing or replaying the recorded business action.

The Reports workspace also provides an Activity Events dataset for controlled reporting. Use Activity Logs for investigation and correlated event detail. Use Activity Events when a reusable report definition, grouped output, or downloadable report artifact is required.

See Decrypt protected activity for the additional authority required to view encrypted values.
