Prepare for offline work

How to synchronize required data before working offline.

Before leaving connectivity, prepare each part of Workbench that the Agent will use. Preparation downloads the permitted Customers, Accounts, Products, policies, and other choices needed to complete those tasks offline.

Prepare the device

  1. Connect and open Workbench as the Agent who will use the device.
  2. Visit each module that will be used: Customers, Accounts, Loans, Fixed Deposits, and the New Transaction screen.
  3. Wait until the preparation message clears and confirm that the required lists and selectors load.
  4. On Home, confirm Storage is Ready, there are no failed items, and the Last sync time is current.
  5. Select Sync now before leaving connectivity.

Workbench prepares Customer and Account records, Loan and Fixed Deposit Applications and Contracts, and the configuration needed for each capture journey. Transaction data is prepared when New Transaction is opened because rates, balances, and financial controls can change frequently.

Preparation messages

  • Ready means the prepared data can be used offline.
  • Stale means it remains usable, but the device should refresh it when a connection is available.
  • Expired means the permitted offline period has ended. Reconnect before starting or submitting more work.
  • Incompatible means the saved data no longer matches the current Workbench version. Reconnect and prepare it again.
  • Unconfigured means the required Authorized setup does not yet exist.
  • Unavailable means the device has not downloaded the required data.

Existing Drafts remain on the device when a package expires. Reconnect and refresh before submitting them. A changed Customer onboarding capture package must be explicitly rebased so removed or changed policy fields are not silently discarded.
