Customer configuration
How to configure customer types, ratings, and contribution balance rules.
Open Business Configuration → Customer Configuration. The available tabs are Customer Types, Customer Ratings, Contribution Buckets, and Contribution Types.
Access and lifecycle
Each tab uses its own entity permissions. Read shows the tab, Create permits creation, Update permits changes, and Delete permits deletion and restoration. Customer Types and Customer Ratings also support import and export when the user has Create and Export, respectively.
These records are immediate configuration: they do not use maker-checker or amendments. Changes can affect new customer applications and contribution transactions as soon as they are saved.
Codes are stable identifiers and cannot be changed after creation. remoteEaze blocks deletion when an active dependent configuration still uses the record. At L0, select the target company; tenant users are fixed to their own company.
Configure customer types
Open Customer Types and select Create Customer Type.
| Field | Meaning |
|---|---|
| Code | Stable unique identifier. |
| Description | Name shown when users select a customer type. |
| Category | Individual, Corporate, or Group. |
Category is functional, not merely descriptive. It determines which customer fields, validations, onboarding rules, related parties, and group-member rules can apply. Choose it before creating onboarding policies because it cannot be changed later by renaming the type.
Configure customer ratings
Open Customer Ratings and select Create Customer Rating. Enter a unique Code and its Description.
Ratings classify a customer's risk or service profile. They can be selected on the customer record and used as facts in KYC policy conditions. Agree the business meaning of each rating before making it available to users.
Customer Ratings are not currently selectable facts in Loan Eligibility or Fixed Deposit Eligibility rules. Use only the facts offered by those policy editors when configuring product eligibility.
Configure contribution buckets
Create buckets before contribution types. A bucket is a balance compartment used to group and evaluate contribution amounts.
Open Contribution Buckets, select Create Contribution Bucket, then enter its Code, Name, and optional Description.
A bucket cannot be deleted while an active Contribution Type references it. Remove or replace those references first.
Configure contribution types
Open Contribution Types and select Create Contribution Type.
| Field | Meaning |
|---|---|
| Code, Name, Description | Identify and explain the contribution. |
| Allowed Buckets | Buckets into which this contribution may be posted. |
| Default Bucket | The initially selected bucket; it must be one of the allowed buckets. |
| Affects Withdrawable Balance | Includes the contribution when calculating funds available for withdrawal. |
| Affects Guaranteeable Balance | Includes it when calculating funds available to support guarantees. |
| Allow Withdrawal | Permits withdrawals against this contribution type. |
Only active buckets can be selected. On restoration, the default bucket and at least one allowed bucket must still be active.
The three balance flags serve different purposes. A contribution may affect a calculated balance without independently permitting a withdrawal, so configure them from the intended product and accounting rules rather than assuming they should always have the same value.
For example, a Regular Savings Contribution Type might allow Savings and Emergency Buckets, default to Savings, count toward withdrawable and guaranteeable balances, and permit withdrawal. A Loan Guarantee Reserve type might use only a Guarantee Bucket, count toward guarantee capacity, and not permit ordinary withdrawal.
Contribution Types classify the business event. Buckets identify the balance compartment affected by that event. Group contributions use both values when capturing a contribution. Lending uses eligible contribution balances when evaluating guarantees, while guarantee reservation, release, and invocation change the available capacity without changing the meaning of the original Contribution Type.
Review before customer onboarding
Confirm that the required Customer Type is active and that its Category matches the intended journey. Then configure an authorized KYC Policy, Workflow Definition, and Customer Onboarding Policy. See Before onboarding the first customer.
