Account configuration

How to configure account statuses, automated activity rules, and charge and interest conditions.

Open Business Configuration → Account Configuration. The visible tabs are Statuses, Activity Rules, and Charge / Interest Config. Each tab has its own permission and may be hidden independently.

Permissions and approval behavior

ConfigurationLifecycle
StatusesImmediate configuration; no maker-checker or amendments.
Activity RulesMaker-checker for creation; amendments for Authorized records.
Charge / Interest ConfigMaker-checker, amendments, and effective-dated supersession.

For each entity, Read shows its tab, Create permits creation, Update permits eligible changes, and Delete controls supported retirement or restoration. L1, L2, and L3 authority applies only to the maker-checker entities. At L0, select the target company; tenant users remain within their own company.

For the complete user-interface list of immediate and maker-checker records, see Approval model by entity.

Configure Statuses

Open Statuses and select Create Status. Code and Status Type are fixed after creation; Description and the type-specific controls can be edited.

Choose one Status Type:

Account

Use these statuses for operational account control:

  • Allow Debit Transactions permits withdrawals and other debits;
  • Allow Credit Transactions permits deposits and other credits;
  • Allow COB Transactions permits COB-generated transactions.

Loan Classification

Use these statuses for arrears and non-performing treatment:

  • Non-performing Loan Stage identifies an NPL classification;
  • Continue Interest Accrual controls whether interest keeps accruing;
  • Suspend Interest Income Posting preserves accrual records but stops the accrued interest from being posted to income while the classification applies.

Status changes take effect immediately. remoteEaze blocks deletion where an active account, policy, rule, or other configuration still depends on the status.

Configure Activity Rules

Activity Rules are evaluated by COB to move an account to an operational status or move a loan to a classification status.

Open Activity Rules, select Create Activity Rule, then complete the General, Configuration, and Scope tabs.

FieldMeaning
Rule Applies ToOperational Account Status or Loan Classification.
Rule TypeAccount inactivity/balance condition, or Days in Arrears for loan classification.
Threshold Days / AmountAppears when required by the selected rule.
Target StatusActive status to apply when the rule wins. Its Status Type must match the rule target.
ProductOptional customer Product scope. Empty creates a global rule; selecting several Products creates matching product-specific rules.
PriorityLower numbers evaluate first. Stable condition and name ordering breaks a tie.

Account rules support days since last transaction, credit, or debit; balance below a threshold; and zero balance. Loan classification uses days in arrears, including zero for a current classification band. COB applies the highest matching arrears threshold for classification.

A matching product-specific rule overrides a matching global rule. At authorization, remoteEaze rejects rules with the same scope, condition, and priority when they target different statuses. It also reports overlapping or redundant configuration so the approver can review the result.

Select Save as Draft or Save & Submit. An amendment to an Authorized rule leaves the active rule unchanged until approval.

Configure a Charge / Interest condition

Open Charge / Interest Config and select Create Condition. Conditions are effective-dated policies that can be linked to one or more customer-facing Products.

General

Enter the unique Code, Name, Description, Currency, and Effective Period. Choose the interest day-count Interest Basis and use Daily Balance as the balance basis.

Currency and Code cannot be changed later. Effective To must be after Effective From. Leave it empty for an open-ended current version.

Debit Interest and Credit Interest

Debit interest applies to negative balances, such as loans or overdrafts. Credit interest applies to positive balances, such as savings.

For each side, choose Flat Rate, Band, or Level calculation and configure its rate tiers. Leaving the side's tiers empty disables interest for that side. Optional minimum, maximum, and de-minimis amounts bound or waive the calculated interest. Compound interest must be enabled deliberately.

An enabled side also requires these Authorized internal Products and Transaction Codes:

SideGL ProductsTransaction Codes
DebitAsset receivable and IncomeDebit-interest accrual and posting
CreditExpense and Liability payableCredit-interest accrual and posting

The Products must have internal GL posting coverage for the condition currency in every active branch.

See Interest calculations for the day-count bases, tier methods, compounding, accrual, and posting examples.

Attach percentage Tax Definitions to interest where required. Debit interest supports inclusive or exclusive tax. Credit-interest tax is withholding on gross at capitalization, and the combined credit withholding rate cannot exceed 100 percent.

Commission

Attach active Authorized COB Commission Types that should evaluate accounts using this condition. A linked Commission Type must be trigger-less, have a COB frequency, and use the same currency. Transaction-triggered commissions cannot be linked here.

Schedule

Interest accrual is currently operational only at Daily frequency. Select a posting frequency for debit and credit interest and, optionally, a day of the month. If no day is entered, posting occurs at the end of the period.

Enable Use working day to move a non-working posting date to the previous or next working day according to the selected adjustment.

Select Save as Draft or Save & Submit. Authorization revalidates the effective period, tiers, taxes, linked COB commissions, GL Product types, branch posting coverage, and every configured interest Transaction Code. Each Transaction Code must still be active and Authorized for the same company when the final approval is performed.

After authorization, use Linked Products on the detail page to connect the condition to customer-facing Products. remoteEaze prevents unlinking a Product while active accounts use that Product-condition combination.

Use an amendment for ordinary changes to the current Authorized condition. Use Supersede Condition when a new future-dated version should replace an open-ended Authorized version. Supersession closes the current effective period and creates the next version without rewriting history; the new effective date must be at least tomorrow.
