FX Rate Updates
How to create, review, authorize, activate, and correct foreign-exchange rates.
An FX Rate Update is the maker-checker record that proposes one or more operational Currency rates for a Business Date. Open Business Configuration → Financial Configuration → FX Rate Updates.
Before you begin
Prepare the base Currency, foreign Currency, exchange-gain Product, exchange-loss Product, active Business Calendar, and any provider used by the update. See Currencies and FX Providers.
Access and approval model
Read FX Rate Update shows the tab and details. Create FX Rate Update permits a draft. The configured L3, L2, and L1 authority controls approval. An Authorized rate is immutable. Use a correction rather than changing its history.
Create a rate update
Select New Rate Update, then choose one input method.
Manual entry
Select a foreign Currency and Quote Direction, then enter Buy Rate and
Sell Rate. remoteEaze calculates the Mid Rate. Rates must be positive and
must satisfy buy ≤ mid ≤ sell. Read the preview because it states which
Currency one unit of the displayed quote buys.
Rate provider
Select an enabled Authorized provider and up to 20 supported Currencies. The provider margins are prefilled but can be adjusted for this request. Select Fetch Rates, review the values and source evidence, then save the preview as a draft or submit it.
Rate file
Download the template and upload a CSV or XLSX file containing Business Date, foreign Currency, Quote Direction, Mid, Buy, Sell, and optional Source Reference. remoteEaze validates the file and stages a draft before submission.
Manual and provider updates use the active Calendar's Current Working Day. A file row cannot use a future Business Date.
Authorize and activate
Open the detail and verify every Currency, displayed quote, Buy, Mid, Sell, Business Date, and source. Complete the approval sequence shown by the authorization panel.
Final authorization activates the newest eligible rate for each Currency and changes an eligible foreign Currency to Enabled. Authorization fails if the base Currency, exchange Products, or Branch posting coverage is incomplete. An older Authorized rate remains in history without replacing a newer active rate.
Correct an Authorized update
Select Create Correction, enter the reason, and provide the corrected rates. The correction displays both the original and replacement values and follows maker-checker. Authorization records a new immutable rate set and preserves the original audit history.
